Statement of Need/Program Overview
The purpose of this educational activity is to discuss professionalism as the foundation of safe, quality healthcare, and best practices to address behaviors that undermine that culture of safety. Practical options and considerations for consistently, professionally, and ethically addressing encounters with dissatisfied or aggressive patients will be shared, in addition to strategies on mitigating burnout and increasing personal satisfaction in the medical practice setting.
The target audience for this activity is Medical Mutual's provider physician group and related healthcare professionals
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Identify components of a workplace safety assessment, including risk factors and areas of improvement
- Relate patient complaints and co-worker concerns to physician burnout
- Cite 2-3 strategies for addressing behaviors that undermine a culture of safety

Instructions to Receive CME Credit
In order to successfully complete the activity, participants must score 70% on the post test at the end of the activity and complete the course evaluations. Each participant has a maximum of three attempts to score a 70%. Successful completion is supported by a 70% pass rate at the end of the course, proving competency on the content of the activity.
